Stabbing/Robbery Incident
April 23, 2013

On Monday evening, April 22, 2013, at 8:30 p.m., Spokane Valley Sheriff`s Deputies responded to the 8500 block of E. Sharp Road in Spokane Valley on a stabbing call.  The adult male victim told deputies that he was walking north on Vista Road approaching Broadway when he was confronted by an adult male.  The suspect was a white male, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, approximately 5`11", 150 lbs and had a grayish brown beard.  The victim estimated the age of the suspect in his early thirties.

The victim said the suspect demanded money.  When the victim refused, he said the suspect struck him with some type of edged weapon.  The victim placed his hands in the air to shield the attack and was cut on his left hand.  The victim threw his wallet on the ground telling the suspect to take it.  The suspect took a $10.00 bill out of his wallet and ran northbound on Vista.  The victim received nine stitches in his left hand from the assault.

$16,000 In Cards Taken From Valley Business

On March 23, 2013, Spokane Valley Sheriff`s Deputy C. North responded to Spokane Valley Sports cards located near the 9400 block of East Sprague Ave.  The business owner told Deputy North that sometime between March 21st and March 23rd, his business was burglarized. 

The owner said that $10,000 worth of vintage baseball and football cards were stolen, as well as $6,000 worth of celebrity cards.  The owner of the business stated the sports cards are extremely valuable.  Many of the cards are vintage 50`s and 60`s era.

Occupied Day Time Burglaries Within Two Blocks Of Each Other
January 22, 2013

On Monday, January 21, 2013, at about 2:30 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff`s Deputies responded to the 8400 block of East Sunflower Lane to an occupied, residential burglary call.  The female homeowner told 911 she heard someone break into her house and that she had armed herself with a handgun and locked herself in a bathroom.

The victim was able to get a look at the suspect who she described as a white male between 6` and 6`2" and very skinny.  She said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie style sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans.

When deputies arrived on scene they saw the front door to the residence had been pried open.  Deputies were able to track the suspect a short distance from the residence where it appeared the suspect drove off in a vehicle.  A neighbor said he saw a black Dodge Ram prowling around the area a couple weeks prior but there was no vehicle description with this incident.

At about 7:00 p.m. that same evening, deputies responded to a second occupied residential burglary call approximately two blocks from the Sunflower Lane burglary near the 6300 block of North Jenson Road.  In this incident the homeowner could hear someone breaking her door open then heard someone inside her home.   The victim told 911 she was in an upstairs bedroom.

Deputies responded quickly and located the female homeowner safe inside her house.  Deputies determined the suspect used some type of tool to pry open the front door.  The victim told deputies she could hear the suspect on the main floor of her residence.   She the upstairs floor creeks when she walks and thought the suspect must have heard her walking and fled the scene.  No items were taken in either incident.
